I hate pump guns.  There are to many dependable auto loaders on the market to shoot a pump.  Why law enforcement agencies continue issuing pumps is beyond me.  I guess they are to busy hiring office personnel to arm their officers with what they need.  My hunting shotgun is a Winchester Super X3.  I freakin' love it.  It feeds any sized shell without changing parts.  The only problem I have had was about half way through duck/goose season last year.  It wouldn't go all of the way into battery on one trip.  A few drops of oil and it ran flawlessly through the rest of the season.  And it eats up the recoil for fast follow up shots.

You have a point there especially on the LE side of it. I've often wondered the same thing but never really thought to ask the question. Is it because "someone" started using a pump as a Law Enforcement gun and everyone else followed suit? Is it because of price? I don't know. Never really priced any of the shotguns but I guess I need to do a little homework of my own if I want to admin this forum.

As with everything law enforcement does, I would say price is a major factor.  And most cops are lazy.  They don't keep their weapons as clean and lubed as they should.  Pump guns will shoot forever and not need cleaning.  Just like Glocks.  Lazy cops made them the number one police pistol.

I be g to differ on the lazy cops point. While there are plenty of them, probably no more than are in any other line of work. Price point is what makes glocks and pump guns attractive to LE. That and (generally) a track record of reliability. Pump guns are easy to run provided you receive proper training and regular practice.
