Just over a year or so ago, several different rifle manufactures developed a rifle that was on the same scale as the AR but chambered it in a 6.5 round. There was several studies done on this and one of the most interesting things that was found was that the 6.5 had more knock down power than the 5.56 (.223). This being said, manufactures believed that since Law Enforcement agencies were moving to these type weapons, that they would pick up the 6.5 before grabbing up the standard 5.56. Were they wrong? From what I can tell at this point, sales with this caliber weapon are there but not in the numbers that people would like them to be.

We could go on and on about this but then we would take away from the "topic".

While there are same ammunition manufactures out there that jumped right on board, on large name ammunition maker did not and has no plans to in the near future. Remington has come out and said that unless demand picks up or they have more feedback they are not going to put this round in the production stages. Can't say that I don't blame them. Until we see significant sales in these guns, obviously, there is no sense in making the ammo when there are others out there that already do. Wise business choice? I think so.

We need to pick and choose our battles therefore, save the energy for the battles we choose not to pick for the battles we do choose to pick.
