I have added some new features to the site that I hope will address some of the issues that I have received and make it more appealing to visit.
Below are the features and instructions on how to use some of the features.
1) Chat Integration: IF you choose to not log in to the forum, you can click on the CHAT test that is directly under the NEWS section. Simply click on chat and another window will load asking for your user name and password. Use your username/password that you would to log in to the forum. If there is anyone in the chat, you will see a number to the left of CHAT (ex: Chat (2)) meaning that there are two members already in the chat. If you choose to log in, you can log in to the forum and click the CHAT and you will automatically be logged in. Once logged in, you can choose the Channel which will give you a list of all the boards on the site. It is possible to have 3 members in Law Enforcement Only and 5 members in NEWS. You can switch between these boards.
2) INVITE: In the menu box (beside of CHAT) if you have been given permission to INVITE someone, this feature will show up. All members have been given this feature. You can click on this and it will bring up a window and you can enter the persons Name, Email Address and a personal message if you like. Above that in the first window, there is a link that can be copied and pasted in the text box. This will give the recipient a link to click on so it will take them to the register page.
When you invite someone, you will receive credits. There are setting on the Admin side where I can set how long the invite is good for, kind of like a product coupon code and I can see who invited whom so they can receive credit for having invited the member.
You will also notice that there are colors on the board names. Some of these are hard to read. I have contacted the developer to see if I can change that text to be bold so it would be easier to read and I am waiting on a response. For now, I'm going to leave it on there but if I don't hear back on something soon, I'll disable it until the issue can be resolved.
3) Personal Notes: I have added a feature where each member can leave personal notes. If you click on your PROFILE text and scroll about half way down, you will see it. Only you and the Administrator can see the notes. Other members can not see your notes. I get no notification that there is a note but, if you need to leave me a lengthy message that is too big for the PM function, just let me know either by email or PM that you have left a note and I will read it and then put a note on there letting you know that I have read it. I will NOT delete your note if left. This is for you to make your own notes regarding items on the board, things for sale, something you need to change, etc. If you leave a note, please be sure to SAVE it as it will not automatically save.
4) Calendar Borders are colored. (Just to change the looks of things.)
5) TWITTER: If you have a Twitter account, you can go to your profile>Forum Profile Information and there is a box about halfway down that has a twitter field. Only enter your twitter name (ex.
www.twitter.com/ECShooters) you would enter "ECShooters" (without the quotations). This will be displayed under your user name.
